Sherlock!

Hello there,

It has been some time after my last blog and friends kept on insisting me to blog even during my hectic schedule. The topic I am going to discuss here is a review of a famous TV serial Sherlock by BBC.

I got all the three seasons of Sherlock a month ago from one of my close friends. It took me about a week (in between my work) to completely watch the three series and what it made me at the end was truly amazing. The makers of the series are among the successful people who have won the hearts and minds of the spectators. Salutes to the makers of the serial who have made my viewing experience a wonderful one.

Right from the beginning the story is very well constructed and it is brought out in such a way that a the viewer is forced to watch all the episodes and has no other option but to satisfy his curiosity! I have to tell something about the actors. Benedict Cumberbatch is one such genius who has brought the fullest of what that is possible by Sherlock Holmes! When Martin Freeman joins the scene as salt to the food, the story really gets complete! I must also not forget to mention the flawless acting of Andrew Scott as Jim Moriarty as no hero is complete without a hard villain!

There are very few things which I didn't like in the series. Sherlock though a human has the ability to zoom into details when he does the investigations which is not possible for a human to do so. (He might be a good observer though). There are scenes where Sherlock shows affinity towards drugs and smoking which as an educational and entertainment serial it must not have encouraged them. Sherlock might be a high functioning sociopath but it doesn't mean that he has to influence every human around him to be a sociopath! Moreover the homeless network of Sherlock is a foolish thing to add in such a good serial

Whatever the demerits the serial might have, but as far as I can say, this serial has made my days of watching wonderful and made me think twice before speaking to the strangers! The way how Sherlock deduces and the bond of friendship between Watson and him has given this world a message of true friendship and interdependence. Truly if one understands the good qualities one possesses and makes use of them in the right time, one can unleash the true Sherlock in within themselves!

LaserPipe – The snake robot that crawls through pipes and makes welding look easy

Hello there! LaserPipe  is a snake robot that can crawl inside pipes and fix faults in very remote locations. Fixing holes that happen to be located within pipes can prove to be a challenge for even the most experienced welders. This generally is due to the fact that movement is restricted based on the nature of the pipe and the location of the fault. Perhaps the welder’s hand cannot fit into the pipe, or the pipe is located in a very inaccessible location. Given this problem, LaserPipe is an idea that was developed in a collaboration between OCRobotics and TWI Ltd with the aim of eliminating the need for a human to physically weld a fault that is located within a pipe. Unsurprisingly, the attention went to robots. Robots are very efficient when designed properly, but it can be tricky to come up with a robot that can travel within tubes and perform repairs as it goes. Thanks to snake-arm robotics, that challenge can be overcome very easily. The robot moves lik...

Zoom Burst Technique

Hello there! In this post I have decided to blog on a photography technique called 'Zoom Burst'. This technique is used by photographers to highlight the given pin pointed object under focus. It is a highly skilled technique that requires at least a month of experience with a DSLR camera. The basic principle of this method is usage of lower shutter speeds to capture a trail of light which persists in the CMOS sensor of the DSLR camera. One needn't be a professional in photography to achieve these kinds of effects in the camera. Most of the people prefer to get these effects with the help of Photoshop or any photo editing software. But I personally believe that "the true spirit of photography lies in discovering new ways of seeing things, different from other people." One can truly enjoy his/her efforts in these fields of photography. I did get stunning results with this, but lacking time to perform more experiments, I satisfied myself with few pictures. St...

A New Thought Into The Other Dimension

Hello there! It has been a very long time after my last blog. I was busy in thinking about this. Ya! A thought into another dimension. Some concepts of Heisenberg's uncertainty principle had been bothering me for the past few days and just like the hot spring erupting from the arctic ice, a new thought occurred into my network of neurons recently. I would like to explain this in the coming sections. I recommend all the physics enthusiasts to go through this topic and give it a thought. The Uncertainty: According to Werner Heisenberg's uncertainty principle, it is impossible to determine simultaneously the exact position and momentum of a subatomic particle. He uses the Planck's constant and derives the mathematical relation between them. There is another part of the theory: It is impossible to determine the energy and time of a subatomic particle simultaneously. But there is something beyond what these equations of the nature wants us to know. But before that let u...
